Martina Hingis was the second player taken in this past week’s World Team Tennis draft. She’ll be playing for the New York Buzz. Looks as though she’ll have a date to play Serena Williams in July who will be representing the Washington Kastles.

Robin Soderling wins Roterdam as Mikhail Youzhny had to retire down 6-4 2-0 in the final. Youzhny had a great week upsetting the number two player in the world, Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.
Juan Carlos Ferrero had little more than a practice session in destroying Lucasz Kubot 6-1 6-0 in Brazil.

At the Paris Indoors Elena Dementieva knocks out Lucie Safarova. Dementieva must be tired, it took three sets for her to win all of her matches this week.

Fernando Verdasco came back against top seed Andy Roddick to take the SAP Open 36, 64, 64. With the win Verdasco snaps a seven match losing streak against Roddick. He had also lost his last 15 matches against top ten players.
